Easton Recreation Basketball League

2012- 2013 Travel Basketball

All Easton Travel players must be current residents of Easton enrolled in Grades 4,5,6,7, or 8.

Travel Team Commitment and Cost

All Easton travel teams play in the Metrowest Basketball League – a twelve game schedule that runs from October (first practices) through March (including the playoffs). Travel teams also participate in various tournaments throughout Eastern Massachusetts. Travel basketball is competitive and requires a commitment from both players and parents. Metrowest games are on Sundays and travel teams usually practice twice a week. All players on travel teams in Grades 4 through 6 are required to also play Recreation Basketball. The cost to participate on a travel team is $225 per player with a maximum of $500 per family.

Easton Recreational Basketball League (ERBL) Travel Basketball Mission Statement

The mission of ERBL Travel Basketball is to ensure that all players participating on any of the ERBL Travel Basketball Teams (grades 4 – 8) properly develop as basketball players.  This development will be accomplished through a combination of proper teaching techniques, offering players the opportunity to participate in meaningful game situations over the course of the basketball season and by:
¨       Creating additional travel teams as reasonable and warranted
¨       Playing in as many tournaments as schedule permits and economically feasible
¨       Scheduling out of town scrimmages as reasonable and time permits
¨       Providing the opportunity for coaches and players to participate in meaningful coaching and player clinics
¨       Keeping roster sizes reasonable and manageable
¨       Ensuring each player participates in each half of each game
